Bosnian women angry 'hidjabverbod'

sarajevo - About two thousand women took to the streets in Bosnia to protest against a ban on Islamic headscarves in courts and other legal institutions.

Some protesters carried signs with the inscription,, the hijab is my right ', the BBC reported Monday.

The women marched through capital Sarajevo about an hour. Organizer Samira Zunic Velagic complained that the ban was intended to Muslim women their right to work to decrease. The Bosnian population is about 40 percent Muslim.

The protest followed a decision by the supervisor of the judiciary, all religious symbols did the spell. The hijab was thereby specifically mentioned.
