'Bose loves music users'

chicago - Bose, headphone and speaker manufacturer, has been sued by a US user. That says an app from the company keeps track of what music he is listening to. That data would then be sold to advertisers.

Complainant Kyle Zak from Chicago bought Bose Wireless QuietComfort 35 headphones. Then he installed the Bose Connect app so that he could handle the headphones with his smartphone. Zak then discovered that the Bose app kept track of his music choices, says his lawyer. Bose made profiles of users and sold them to marketing companies.

According to the complaint, other Bose devices also collect such data. Zak says that songs, podcasts and radio shows can say a lot about '' political and religious views, thoughts and emotions '' of a user. Zak claims a compensation but does not mention an amount.
