jodhpur - Bollywood star Salman Khan was sentenced to five years in prison for the shooting of two rare antelopes in 1998. Khan shot the endangered Indian antelope in the Indian state of Rajasthan, reports BBC.

The actor was there for filming. Four other actors from that film have been acquitted.

In addition to a prison sentence, the actor receives a fine of 10,000 rupees (125 euro). A pittance for the actor who last year with an income of 37 million euros in the world's top 10 most earning movie stars.

Khan can appeal, writes BBC. He goes into the cell for at least a few days.

The illegal hunting party has been chasing Khan for years. In 2006 he was sentenced to five years in prison, but subsequently acquitted again in appeal. Then, in addition to the two antelopes, it also involved three gazelles.

In 2015, Khan also received a five-year prison sentence for five homeless people, one of whom died. After appeal, he was subsequently acquitted in that case.
