Body falls out of hearse in Poland due to technical malfunction

stalowa wola - A Polish funeral company apologizes after a body falls out of the hearse onto the street, attributing it to an unexpected technical issue.

A man driving through the streets of Stalowa Wola in southern Poland on Friday found his car suddenly covered by a sheet. As the sheet slipped off, he discovered a body lying on the road, briefly fearing he had hit the person.

However, it turned out to be the body of a deceased individual that had fallen out of the hearse, for which the funeral director is now apologizing. Images of the incident are circulating on social media.

"We regret to inform you that during the transportation of the body of a deceased person, an unfortunate incident occurred that is not in line with the high standards of our company. The incident was due to an unexpected technical malfunction of the electric rear door lock of the hearse. We express our deepest sympathy to the family of the deceased," the company wrote in a statement on its website on Saturday.
