Blok asks Hungary to stop slander

brussels - Hungary must stop smear campaigns against those who express their views on the rule of law in the country. Minister Stef Blok (Foreign Affairs) asked the Hungarian Secretary of State Szabolcs Takacs (European Affairs) during a meeting on the situation in the country.

'You can not attack politicians or other people who take part in the public debate and have a sharp point of view on the person,' said the minister. He mentioned Hungary's rapporteur in the European Parliament Judith Sargentini (GroenLinks) as an example of such slander.
