united states - Former President Joe Biden granted preventive pardon for his family members minutes before handing over the presidency.

Biden's Preventive Pardon for Family

Former President Joe Biden issued a preventive pardon for his brothers James and Frank Biden, sister Valerie Biden, and their spouses just minutes before his term ended. Biden stated that his family had been subjected to relentless attacks and threats motivated by a desire to harm him.

Reiterating his belief in the rule of law, Biden expressed optimism that the power of our legal institutions will ultimately prevail over politics. He highlighted how politically motivated investigations and baseless accusations disrupt the lives of individuals, causing irreparable damage to their reputations and financial well-being.

This last-minute pardon comes after President Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden last month for federal tax and gun charges. Hunter Biden was facing imprisonment due to these charges.
