Belgium Shocked by Own Pelicot Case

Belgium is reeling from a case mirroring the notorious Dominique Pelicot scandal in France. A 59-year-old woman from Incourt, suffering from unexplained symptoms, tested positive for tranquilizers in her blood, a substance found in her husband's medication.

Decade-Long Abuse

The victim, married for 23 years, experienced fatigue and memory loss for years, unknowingly drugged by her husband with Temesta to incapacitate and assault her. The husband, J. M. D., avoided prison due to health issues.

Legal Outcome

J. M. D. received a four-year suspended sentence for drugging and raping his wife over 11 years. Despite meticulous evidence, his declining health spared him jail time. In contrast, Dominique Pelicot, in a similar case, received a 20-year prison sentence.
