Belgian couple killed by omwaaiende tree

dalhem - The stormy weather Thursday evening has claimed two lives in the Belgian village of Dalhem, just south of Maastricht. An uprooted tree fell on the car of a couple in their forties, police reported.

The man sitting behind the wheel and died on the spot. The woman was taken to a hospital in Liege, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The two were from the nearby Aubel. A passer-by was about 21. 50 hours witnessed the accident.
