- Barcelona centre-back Pau Cubarsí signs a contract extension through June 2029, solidifying his key role in the team.

Barcelona's Rising Star: Pau Cubarsí

Barcelona's young defender, Pau Cubarsí, has inked a new deal that will keep him at the club until June 2029. The La Masia product, who recently turned 18, has quickly become a pivotal figure in the Barcelona defense since his promotion to the first team. Cubarsí's previous contract was set to expire in 2027, but the club's latest move secures his services for an additional two years. Despite his young age, Cubarsí has already proven himself on the field, making 24 appearances in his debut season and playing in all 36 games this season. His remarkable performances have also earned him a spot in the Spanish national team, where he contributed to the squad's success at the Paris Olympics, clinching the gold medal. With a buyout clause set at €500 million, Barcelona is clearly determined to keep hold of this rising star for the long term.
