Bahrain discovered enormous oil field

manama - Bahrain has discovered the largest oil field in the history of the kingdom in the Gulf for its west coast.

According to the high committee for natural resources in the country, it is 'many times more' oil than the only oil field currently in use. In addition to oil, there are significant stocks of gas. The national news agency BNA has announced this on Sunday.

Bahrain is heavily dependent on the export of oil and gas. The sector accounts for about 80 percent of national income. This has fallen sharply in recent years due to the low oil price. The island state is a loyal ally of Saudi Arabia with which the Abu Safah field is shared.
