canberra - Australian Prime Minister, Albanese, expressed his willingness to engage in dialogue with Elon Musk regarding the proposed ban on social media for individuals under 16. Some digital experts question the technical feasibility of the ban.

Australian Prime Minister, Albanese, mentioned in an interview with ABC that they are open to dialogue with anyone, including Musk. He acknowledged Musk's right to defend his agenda and expressed readiness to engage in discussions.

The Australian Parliament recently passed a law requiring platforms like X, TikTok, and Instagram to implement measures blocking access for children and young teenagers within a year. Non-compliance can result in fines up to 30 million euros.

Despite the law, some digital experts raise doubts about the technical feasibility of the ban. Online platforms have criticized aspects of the bill, warning that youth might shift to unsupervised alternative networks and sites.

Albanese mentioned that the government will finalize age verification conditions in 12 months, without the need for identification. He emphasized the extensive information social networks possess and their capability to implement protective measures.
