queensland, australia - An Australian influencer has been arrested for poisoning her own child in an attempt to receive donations through a fundraising platform.

An Australian influencer, a 34-year-old woman from the state of Queensland, has been arrested for allegedly poisoning her own child. The woman claimed to her followers that her 1-year-old girl had a terminal illness and asked for donations on the platform GoFundMe. Police revealed that videos she shared online showed the child in 'enormous stress and pain.'

In October last year, the child was hospitalized following a medical emergency. Doctors became suspicious and involved the police. In January, it was discovered that the woman had administered various non-prescribed medications to her child. She has been arrested and accused of fraud, as well as torturing, poisoning, and exploiting her child.

'These crimes are abhorrent,' said Paul Dalton, a police inspector from Queensland. From August to October last year, the woman allegedly gave the child various non-prescribed medications, including drugs belonging to other individuals in her home. The child's condition deteriorated, risking death. Thankfully, the young victim is now in a much better state,' Dalton added.

The woman had managed to raise 60,000 Australian dollars (around 36,000 euros) in donations. Dalton mentioned that GoFundMe intends to refund the money to the donors. The woman is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
