brisbane - An unemployed Australian has been a doctor for months in a children's hospital in Brisbane. The judge fined Nicholas Brett Delaney a fine of nearly 2000 euros, reports Australian media.
The 25-year-old man was fined only because he did not actually try to treat patients. Delaney visited the children's hospital according to his lawyer to make friends after he lost his job. There the man, who has a slight intellectual disability, claimed that he was a surgeon.
The Australian finally met a security guard from the hospital through the dating app Grindr. Delaney had also confronted that man as 'doctor Nick'. As a result, according to his lawyer, he felt compelled to continue as a fake doctor. He finally fell through the basket.
