Australia agrees with gay marriage

canberra - The Australian parliament has approved gay marriage after a long and fierce national debate. As a result, the people's representation follows the Australian population, who recently appeared to support homosexual marriages by a large majority in a national survey.

The Senate in Australia already preceded the House of Representatives last week in the adoption of the bill. Prime Minister Turnbull said on Thursday after the vote: 'Today we voted for equality, for love. 'Immediately after the vote, a huge cheering broke out in the public gallery.

The law will come into force in about a month. The first couples immediately reported for a marriage in January.
