washington - Eleven days before the inauguration of the 45th president of the US, the Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, who is affiliated with the Kremlin, consulted with Donald Trumps lawyer and regulator Michael Cohen.

That happened in his office on the 26th floor of the Trump Tower. The topic of discussion was the mutual wish to improve relations between Russia and the US.

That writes The New York Times Friday. The newspaper is based on information from the American businessman Andrew Intrater, who is investing money for Vekselberg and attended the meeting in New York in January 2017.

They agreed at the time to meet again at the swearing in of Trump. Intraters company Columbus Nova rewarded Cohen in the following days with a contract as a consultant valued at 1 million dollars.

Vekselberg owns Renova Group, a large Russian conglomerate, and would have about 13 billion dollars. That makes him one of the five richest Russians.
