During the night from Thursday to Friday, around 01:00 am, a passerby in a park in the western part of the German city noticed two men trying to ignite the stack of wood. Upon seeing the bystander, they quickly fled the scene. As the passerby approached, he heard loud meowing coming from the pile of wood and promptly alerted the police.

Officers rescued the kitten and transported it to a shelter. One officer was bitten multiple times on the hand, requiring medical treatment. The culprits are yet to be apprehended.
