bamako - In the African state of Mali, unknowns have performed an armed attack on a luxury holiday resort that is popular with Western tourists on Sunday. A spokesman for the Ministry of Security in Bamako did not know any details, but said the attack on Le Campement is still going on.
According to the first messages, various hotel guests are hostage. According to local testimonies, several shots were released. Also, smoke would rise above the resort.
The Malinese army and French soldiers are on the spot. It is not yet clear whether there are victims.
The luxurious resort is located in Dougourakoro, east of the capital Bamako.
