tunis - At least six Tunisian agents were killed by an attack near the border with Algeria. It is the deadliest attack in the North African country since 2015.

State news agency TAP reported that nine people were killed, the Interior Ministry reported six deaths. The officers were ambushed during a patrol in the northwest of the country, near the border with Algeria. 'The terrorists threw a grenade on the front car, followed by a gunfight', the news agency quotes a source within the authorities.

In 2015, several large-scale terrorist attacks were committed in the country. In March, terrorists shot 22 people, mostly Western tourists, dead in the Bardo museum in the capital Tunis. In June followed the bloody attack on tourists on the beach of Sousse. A terrorist shot 38 people dead. Most of the victims were British.
