- Atlanta United make MLS history with the signing of Emmanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough in a record-breaking deal.

Atlanta United Make MLS History

Atlanta United has made headlines by signing Middlesbrough forward Emmanuel Latte Lath in a deal that has set a new MLS record. The Ivory Coast striker, who has an impressive track record of 29 goals in 67 appearances for Middlesbrough, arrives at Atlanta United for a reported sum of $22 million plus add-ons. This deal surpasses the previous record set by FC Cincinnati for acquiring Kévin Denkey. Latte Lath's signing marks Atlanta United's second major move of the winter, following the return of midfielder Miguel Almirón from Newcastle United.

Speaking on the signing, Atlanta United's sporting director Chris Henderson expressed his excitement, stating, 'We're excited to sign Latte Lath and look forward to welcoming him to the club and the city of Atlanta. He's a forward with excellent pace and good goalscoring instincts. His ability to stretch the field will add another dimension to our attack. At 26 years old, he's entering the prime years of his career and has already shown his goal-scoring ability in multiple leagues in Europe.'

The acquisition of Emmanuel Latte Lath is seen as a strategic move by Atlanta United to strengthen their attacking lineup and elevate their performance in the upcoming MLS season.
