The International Organization for Migration (IOM) stated on Friday that the local population is in need of shelter, food, hygiene kits, and mosquito nets. The European Union announced on Friday that they are sending material and financial assistance to Mozambique and Mayotte.

On the French island, 35 people have died and approximately 2,500 people have been injured due to Chido. French President Emmanuel Macron, during his visit to the island on Thursday, stated that there may be many more victims to mourn.
