- Aston Villa is close to finalizing a loan agreement for Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, according to sources.

Aston Villa to Secure Loan Deal for Marcus Rashford

Aston Villa is on the verge of securing a loan deal for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, as reported by ESPN sources. The England international is set to move to Villa Park until the end of the season, with Villa covering a significant portion of his wage and including performance-related bonuses in the agreement.

Rashford's Situation and Potential Permanent Move

Rashford, who was frozen out by United head coach Ruben Amorim, has attracted interest from Aston Villa after the departure of striker Jhon DurĂ¡n. The loan deal includes an option for Villa to make the move permanent at the end of the season. However, if Villa does not exercise this option, Rashford is expected to return to Old Trafford in the summer.

Interest from Other Clubs

Despite Rashford's preference for a move to Barcelona, financial constraints have complicated a potential deal with the LaLiga side. Borussia Dortmund has also shown interest, but Rashford's high weekly wage remains a significant hurdle.

Additional Transfer News

Meanwhile, Aston Villa has reportedly reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to secure the loan signing of Marco Asensio for the remainder of the season. Asensio, who joined PSG in 2023 from Real Madrid, will provide additional strength to Villa's squad for their Champions League campaign and pursuit of European football next season.
