baghdad - The Iraqi forces took over more areas previously owned by Kurdish warriors. The government spokesman says, among other things, that he has the important Mosuldam in the province of Nineveh.
It was known in the province not to fight between men of the central government in Baghdad and the Kurds. Kurdish warriors (Peshmaras) retreated before the military arrived on Tuesday, the army suggested a day later.
The Iraqi forces started their march earlier this week. They took over disputed areas in the north of the country, including the oily region of Kirkuk. The Iraqi oil minister said Wednesday, asking oil company BP to 'make plans to develop the oilfields at Kirkuk.'
