argentina - Argentine government decides to withdraw from the World Health Organization due to deep differences in health policies.

Argentina's Decision to Leave WHO

Argentine President Javier Milei announced the country's withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) citing deep disagreements over health policies.

Milei criticized WHO's long-term quarantine measures during the pandemic, stating that they amounted to a crime against humanity. He emphasized that Argentina did not receive funds from WHO and that the decision to withdraw would not impact the quality of services.

President's spokesperson Manuel Adorni highlighted the scientific basis of the prolonged quarantine measures imposed by WHO during the pandemic, claiming that it had caused significant harm to the Argentine economy.
