san antonio - American author Robert James Waller is at the age of 77 at his home in Fredericksburg, Texas deceased. Pneumonia was fatal to him in combination with multiple myeloma, a form of bone marrow cancer which he suffered. That his agent Friday published on the magazine Variety.

Waller was known for the novel 'The Bridges of Madison County' in 1992, which more than twelve million copies worldwide, including in a Dutch translation, were sold. The book, written in just eleven days, was filmed by Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep in the lead roles.
