philadelphia - Chinese authorities demand 'a severe punishment' for an American who has stolen a thumb from a two thousand year old Chinese terracotta statue.

The 24-year-old man visited the 'Ugly Sweater' party at the Franklin Institute on December 21st. He thought it would be fun to continue to party among the terracotta statues and to enter the exhibition, which was closed at the time.

According to state media, he used a mobile phone as a flashlight and took a selfie with one of the fighters. He cuddled the image and broke a thumb. He put it in his pocket. Only on 8 January did staff discover that an inch was missing.

The FBI managed to find out who had stolen the piece of image that had a value of 4.5 million dollars. They visited the man, Michael Rohana, at home. He admitted having stolen the thumb and had put the piece of image in his desk drawer.

The ten life-size statues that are exhibited in the American museum are part of an army of 8000. The terracotta army, which was made for the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huangdi, was discovered in 1974. The images had to protect him in the hereafter.
