gressoney - Four Italian mountaineers on Thursday killed in an ascent in northern Italy Gressoney-Saint-Jean. A group of five people climbed a frozen waterfall when a piece broke off from the ice and fell down. A mountain climber which had solid ground under our feet, was wounded and was taken a hospital in Aosta.
The accident was in the northwestern Alps Region Valle d'Aosta where much French is spoken. The ice wall was considered stable, but according to observers may have played the current relatively high temperatures of a role above 10 degrees in the breaking of the ice.
