Almost 800 demonstrators stuck in Tunisia

tunis - The Tunisian authorities have arrested approximately 150 activists on Friday, including some leaders of the opposition. Earlier in the week, security forces also intervened in protests against the high prices and the increase in taxes. According to the Tunisian government, almost eight hundred demonstrators are now in prison.

In contrast to earlier in the week, there were no violent protests on Friday. About two hundred people argued peacefully in the capital Tunis.

Activists and leaders of the opposition have called on to take to the streets again in Tunis on Sunday. Then it is eight years ago that the regime of the authoritarian leader Zine el Abidine Ben Ali fell. After that, dictators had to give way in a few other Arab countries.
