

Algeria prohibits burqa at work

algiers - Algeria has prohibited the wearing of face-covering clothing on the work floor. This means that women are not allowed to wear burqa or nikab during work. The new measure was announced by prime minister Ahmed Ouyahia in capital Algiers on Thursday evening.
Ouyahia said that all ministers and governors must ensure that the new regulations are complied with. This means that all employees, especially those of the government, must be recognizable during working hours. The measure was taken for safety reasons.
