Air attack on Red Cross in Idlib

World February 1, 2017 16:48

idlib - The office of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in the Syrian city of Idlib on Wednesday bombed by warplanes. Some employees were injured, reports the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Who is behind the attack is still unclear. Not established where the planes took off, in Syria or elsewhere.

Russian and Syrian fighters regularly carry out attacks on targets in the city and province of Idlib. The town (about 60 000 inhabitants) is in the hands of rebels who oppose the regime of President Assad. The Americans are active in the area. Their planes are focused on militants who were previously affiliated with al Qaeda.

One of those who was injured Wednesday is the director of the Red Crescent spot.
