Ahmed Şara Declared as Syria's Interim President
New leader Ahmed Şara has been declared as the interim president of Syria during the transition period. The Victory Conference was held with the participation of Dışişleri Bakanı Esad Hasan Şeybani and representatives of military groups. Colonel Hasan Abdülgani announced the decision to appoint Şara as the country's president during the transition period.
Abdülgani also stated that the 2012 constitution has been abolished, and the Assad regime's army, security forces, and parliament have been dissolved.
In a meeting with Russian officials, Ahmed Şara demanded the extradition of Bashar al-Assad and the seizure of approximately $2 billion worth of liquid assets held by the dictator's family in Russian banks.
