teheran - Former Iran president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is unable to participate in the presidential elections in the country. His candidacy was blocked by the Constitution Council, according to Iranian state media on Thursday. The board may block candidates without explanation.
Ahmadinejad was registered as a candidate last week. He opposed the will of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Last summer, he knew that he does not see anything in a new term of office for Ahmadinejad.
Sitting President Hassan Rohani is allowed to take a throw for a second term.
