AMSTERDAM - The rare, blonde orang-oetan recently found in Borneo, goes like Alba through life. That name is chosen from thousands of entries from around the world.
The animal was malnourished and neglected by villagers. They stopped her in a cage, but soon a veterinarian from a specialized shelter centered about the animal.
Because the monkey is so special- the animal has albinism- should anyone name a name. She got the most appropriate: Alba means white in Latin and dawn in Spanish.
The monkey has made it good now and has arrived almost five kilos. What is going to happen to the orangutan is still unclear. Researchers do not yet know what albinism affects the animal.
