90 Palestinian Prisoners Released in Exchange for 3 Israelis

Amidst cheers and celebrations, 90 Palestinian prisoners were released in exchange for 3 Israelis. The prisoners described horrific torture and hunger in Israeli prisons, stating "We came out of hell". The release, following a ceasefire agreement, was welcomed with great enthusiasm. The Israeli media reported that 78 of the released Palestinians were from the occupied West Bank, while 12 were from East Jerusalem.

20 Children and Women Among the Released

Among the released prisoners were women and 20 children under the age of 12, shedding light on the treatment of Palestinian civilians by Israel. The Palestinians, reuniting with their families after years, referred to the conditions and torture they endured in prison as 'hell'. It was revealed that some of the Palestinians released by Israel had been detained due to their social media activities.

Over 10,000 Prisoners Still Held

As of January 1, 2025, there were 10,400 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. The announcement by the Prisoners and Liberated Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners Society stated that among the detainees, there were 4 from Gaza, 87 women, and 320 children. It was noted that 95 children, 22 women, and 3,376 individuals were in administrative detention, while 1,886 prisoners were classified by Israel as "illegal combatants".
