560,000 Catholics at World Youth Day

krakow - Almost 563,000 young people have registered as participants for the Catholic World Youth Day with Pope Francis in Krakow, Poland. The organizing committee reported Friday that most of the pilgrims coming from host country Poland. They are represented among the 187 countries of origin, with nearly 172,000 participants.

Groups also come from Italy, France, Spain and the United States. From Germany to travel almost 15 500 participants to the event. Grzegorz Suchodolski, secretary general of the organizing committee, however, expected to 1.5 million people at World Youth Day.,, The experience of recent years shows that three times more people than there were registered, '' he said.
