- Mega relocation of 500 elephants in the African Malawi is in full swing. In July and August, the animals are anesthetized from a helicopter with arrows and then loaded upside down by their legs on a truck.
Never before were moved so many elephants at one time. Tuesday new images of the huge operation were distributed.
The operation is financed by Dutch funds from the National Postcode Lottery. Elephants move from the overcrowded National Park Liwonde to the empty poached Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve.
