High Waves Claim Lives on Australian East Coast

At least six individuals have lost their lives and two are missing following the occurrence of abnormally high waves along the eastern coast of Australia.

Tragic Incidents:

  • A fisherman in southern Sydney was swept off a rock by the waves on Sunday, leading to a fatal outcome despite efforts to resuscitate him.
  • A fourteen-year-old boy was rescued from the water and is currently in stable condition after a separate incident.
  • Another man died while fishing from a rock in the same state on Saturday.
  • A 24-year-old hiker remains missing after being dragged into the sea by a high wave on Friday.
  • Three men lost their lives in Wollongong, Mosman, and Eden due to the rough sea conditions.
