- Taking obsessive selfies is a real behavioral disorder according to science research from Nottingham Trent University and the Thiagarajar School of Management. People who suffer from 'selfitis' often have a lack of self-confidence and are looking for a way to be part of it. Junaid Ahmed (22) from the British Essex is someone who has 'selfitis'. 'If I have less than 600 likes, I will delete the photo.'

The British twenties takes more than 200 selfies a day and spends hours on Instagram. Ahmed tells his story to the BBC. 'I just love it when I see on my phone that I already have more than 100 likes after one minute when I've posted something. That feels so great, 'Junaid confesses.

If his pictures are not so good, then Ahmed is like the chickens to remove them again. 'If I have less than 600 likes, I will remove the photo again. '

Ahmed himself understands that his behavior has a negative influence on his life. His family and friends are constantly annoyed by his selfie behavior. Conflicts regularly arise. 'Can not you really go out for dinner without taking a picture of yourself or your food?', He regularly hears.

Junaid Ahmed admits that his 'hobby' might be a bit too extreme, but his urge to take selfies was too big. 'Why should not I take selfies? I have not been standing in front of the mirror for three hours ', he explains to the BBC.

The twenties is not just in front of the mirror. He has also performed various plastic procedures. He has implants in his chin, jaw and lips. 'I also have my teeth bleached and inject botox under my eyes and in my forehead. My eyebrows were tattooed and my excess fat was removed. '

Ahmed now has more than 50,000 followers on Instagram. Not all reactions are positive and that affects his self-confidence. But he is not going to stop posting selfies.
