Two Arrested for Impersonating Firefighters

During the firefighting efforts in Los Angeles, two individuals were apprehended for impersonating firefighters. The Los Angeles police reported that amidst the Palisades fire, two people were taken into custody for wearing firefighter uniforms. A patrol unit noticed an unusual fire truck passing through the Palisades fire area. Sheriff deputies, upon contacting the two passengers, realized that both were wearing protective gear. The individuals claimed to be from the 'Roaring River Fire Department' in Oregon. However, authorities found out that such a department didn't exist legally and that the truck had been purchased at an auction. The two individuals were found with CAL-Fire t-shirts, helmets, and radios. They confessed to being in the evacuation zone on Friday, January 17, 2025. The police officers arrested 31-year-old Dustin Nehl and 44-year-old Jennifer Nehl for impersonating firefighters.
