oxford - A group of no less than 1.5 million penguins has been discovered at the South Pole. They had always been overlooked so far. The Arctic birds live on a remote and inaccessible group of islands, the Danger Islands.
Scientists from the American Stony Brook University did not track the penguins until they saw guano spots (dried poo) on satellite images of the islands. Then they decided to take a look at the islands themselves. The scientists also let a drone fly over the area. He saw hundreds of thousands of couples. A computer accurately calculated and counted 751.527 couples.
