15 days of cell for storming field World Cup final

moscow - A court in Moscow has imposed a jail sentence of fifteen days on a member of the punk band Pussy Riot who ran the field on Sunday during the World Cup finals. The band has announced this via its own Facebook page. Veronika Nikulshina also gets a ban on visiting sporting events.

Whether the other three receive the same punishment is not yet clear. The German press agency dpa had reported on Sunday that the Moscow police would dismiss the incident with a fine.

According to the four band members of Pussy Riot they spent the night at the police station. 'Without food, without the possibility to sleep or shower,' they wrote on Facebook, and the band also says that the lawyer was not allowed to visit them for a long time. 'Pussy Riot regularly meets with the authorities in Russia.
