The French police are tirelessly searching for 13-year-old Morgane from Pabu, a town in the French department of Côtes-d'Armor. The teenager left her parental home on Monday after a heated argument with her parents over her phone.
According to various French media reports, her father confiscated her SIM card and smashed her phone after the argument, which was partly about her use of social media.
On Sunday, Morgane informed her friends that she wouldn't be going to school, but her parents say she left on foot on Monday. Shortly after, the school notified her parents that she was absent from class. Since then, she has been missing.
The police have launched a large-scale search operation. Over fifty officers and soldiers were deployed on Saturday, with twenty going door-to-door in the Pabu and Guingamp region, ten conducting road checks, and the rest focusing on the investigation, which indicates a worrying disappearance. Earlier this week, 800 civilians were also mobilized to comb the area, while divers searched the wells near her parental home.
