Attack in Grenoble Café Leaves 12 Injured

Twelve individuals were injured when a grenade was thrown into a café in the Village Olympique district of the French city of Grenoble. Two people are in critical condition. According to the prosecutor, 'Someone entered and threw a grenade without saying a word, then ran away,' he told reporters.

At the time of the explosion, which occurred shortly after 8:00 PM local time, there were 'many customers' present. The motive has not yet been determined, with authorities stating it is unlikely to be a terrorist attack. 'There is nothing to suggest a link to terrorism,' he said, describing it as an 'act of extreme violence' potentially related to settling scores.

A possible connection to drug trafficking is being investigated, with reports suggesting the suspect may have also been carrying a Kalashnikov. 'I condemn this criminal act of extreme violence in the strongest terms possible,' wrote Mayor Eric Piolle of Grenoble on X.
