China has launched its first X-ray scanner from the launch base in Jiuquan in the Gobi desert on Thursday. The 2500 kilos of heavy Insight will gather 550 kilometers of earth over black holes, pulsars and gamma rays bursts. The researchers hope to find out more about the evolution of black holes and strong magnetic fields according to National Press Office Xinhua.
"Chinese space lab Tiangong (celestial palace) 2 Thursday from the Jiuquan space center launched in the Gobi Desert. A rocket brings Spacelab in orbit around the Earth. China's first space lab Tiangong-1 has already been launched in September 2011. This second flight is in preparation for the construction of a Chinese space station, which should be ready in 2022."
