Years of research: notorious cat killer appears to be fox

The British authorities have denied the existence of the so-called 'Croydon cat killer', which is supposed to target cats at Croydon.

That reports British media. In 2015, the police investigated the alleged cat killer. Several animals were found without head or tail, resulting in a lot of commotion. More than fifteen detectives worked on the case at some point. Helpful animal rights activists praised a £ 10,000 reward for the golden tip about the perpetrator.

After three years of research, there appears to be no evidence of human involvement. However, there are camera images on which foxes roam with body parts of dead cats. They might have been hit first by a vehicle, after which other animals feasted on the remains.

The police can not say exactly what the years of research cost.
