Women in the majority in cabinet Spain

The new Spanish Pedro Sánchez presented his ministerial team on Wednesday.

Sánchez overturned his conservative predecessor Mariano Rajoy last week with a vote of no confidence. The Social Democrat then expanded the number of ministerial posts from thirteen to seventeen. Many prominent posts go to women. For example, economist Nadia Calviño becomes Minister of Finance and prosecutor Dolores Delgado may act as Minister of Justice.

Another notable appointment is that of former astronaut Pedro Duque, who, among other things, gets science and innovation in his portfolio. The new ministers will take the oath of office to King Felipe on Thursday.
