Woman (48) dies poisonous mushroom in top restaurant after eating

A Michelin-starred restaurant in Valencia is temporarily closed after eighteen guests have become ill a day after dinner and a 48-year-old woman even died.

The conscious mushrooms, so-called morels, must first be properly heated before they are suitable for human consumption. It is unclear whether that has happened. The Spanish Ministry of Health is conducting research into the case and specifically the meal that fell badly on Saturday evening. The guests had ordered the surprise menu of the restaurant.
