WHO draws Mugabes appointment

The World Health Organization (WHO) has withdrawn the appointment of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe as a goodwill ambassador.

Mugabe's nomination was announced on Wednesday. He should look into Africa for chronic diseases. But on the appointment came a flood of criticism. For example, Minister Bert Koenders called Foreign Affairs the 'a bouncing, bad and bizarre idea'.

Britain called Mugabe's appointment 'surprising and disappointing' and the United States also responded disappointed. The West holds Mugabe responsible for countless human rights violations and the destruction of the country's economy.
