Wheel 3,000 years old found

Archaeologists have in the English city of Peterborough unearthed a three thousand year old wheel.

The wooden wheel has a diameter of about 1 meter and dates according to archaeologists from the University of Cambridge from the period between 1100 and 800 BC. It is so well preserved in the clay that there is even a part of the shaft is attached to, according to the local newspaper Peterborough Telegraph.

Historians and archaeologists date the invention of the wheel at about 3500 BC. Usually it is assumed that the Sumerians, who lived in what is now southeastern Iraq, his creators.
