Weather improvement helps the California fire brigade

The thousands of firefighters who are trying to control the sizeable conflagration to the northwest of Los Angeles have received some help from the weather.

This gave the emergency services the opportunity to build firebreaks to contain the fire. The large-scale wildfire, which entered the third week, is now no longer expanding in half of the affected area. The evacuation obligation has been lifted in a few places.

The danger is certainly not gone. The region is still cork-dry and the meteorological service predicts that the wind will revive Wednesday or Thursday morning. So far, 110,000 hectares have been laid in the ashes with more than a thousand buildings, including 750 residences.
