WC-law contrary to US Civil Rights Act

The controversial 'toilet-law 'that was recently passed in the US state of North Carolina is contrary to the so-called Civil Rights Act.

The law states among other things that transgender people should only use the bathroom that matches the sex on their birth certificate. The law is also a ban on cities and other local authorities to take measures to specifically protect the rights of gay and transgender people.

According to the North Carolina Department fails to respect the section of the Civil Rights Act which prohibits discrimination based on sex. The Ministry has the state, which is governs by Republicans, given time until Monday to promise not to carry out the law.
